Surah 80 3abassa

Bismillahi-rraHhmahi-rraHheem

{3abassa wa tawalla.
An jaaa'ahou 'la3ma.
Wa ma yud-dreeka la3alahu yazzaka.
Aw yath-thakaru fatanfa3ahuth-thikra.
Amma mani-istaghna.
Fa anta lahu taSsadda.
Wa maaa 3alayka alla yaz-zaka.
Wa amma man jaaa'aka yass3a.
Wa huwa yakhsha.
Fa anta 3anhutalah-ha.

Kal-laaa in-naha tathkirah.
Fa man- shaaa'a thakarah.
Fee SsuHhufi-mukarramah.
Marfou3atim-muTtaharah.
Bi aydee safarah.
Kiramim bararah.

Qutila al-insanu maaa akfarah.
Min ayi shay-in khalaqh.
Min-nuTtfatin khalaqahu fa qad-darah.
Thummass -sabeela yassarah.
Thumma amatahu fa aqbruh.
Thumma itha shaaa'a ansharah.
Kal-la lamma yaqdee maaa amaruh.

Fal yanthuril-insanu ila Tta3amih
An-na Ssababna -lmaaa'a Ssab-ba.
Thumma shaqaqna -larDda shaqqa.
Fa ambatna feeha Hhaba
Wa3inabaw waqaDdba.
Wa zaytounaw wa nakhla.
Wa Hhadaaa'iqa ghulba.
Wa fakihataw wa ab-ba.
Mata3al lakum wa li an3amikum.

Fa itha jaaa'ati-Ssaaaaakhah.
Yawm yafirru almar'ou min akheeh.
Wa ummihi wa abeeh.
Wa SsaHhibatihi wabaneeh.
Likulli-imri'im minhum yawma ithi- sha'anuy yughneeh.
Wujuhoy yawmaithim musfirah.
DdaHhikatum mustabshirah.
Wa wujuhoy yawmaithin 3alayha ghabarah.
TarHhaquha qatarah.
Oulaaa'ikah humu-l kafatratul fajarah.}


Meanings of the words:

3abassa=(he) frowned..........3booss=frowning

tawal-la=left(turned away to leave)...
**of the kaba'ir "tawalli yawm azaHhf"=the turning away from the battle.

jaaa ahu=came to him (jaa=came yajee'u =to come)

a3ma=blindman,(3amya'a=blindwoman,3oumee=blind people,3ama=blindness)

ma=what

yudreeka=what could tell you(how would you know)
dirayah=knowledge,yadree=knows

la3al(hu)=(he) might

yazzakka=grow in purity(to be better)

aw=or

yath-thakaru=he remembers(thikra=memory)
atathak-kar=I remember,tithkar=memoir

fa= and so

tanfa3ahu=profit him,manfa3ah=profit

amma= but

man= whoever

istaghna=self sufficient(feel in need for no one)

taSsada=attend

ma 3alayk=not important to you

al-la =not to

yaz-zaka=grow in purity

yass3a=striving(attemting,seeking),sa3ee=between Saf and Marwah.....one of the corners of hajj and umrah

yakh-sha=fearing Allah

talah-ha=unmindful(seeking other interest)

kalla=nay

inaha=it is but

tathkirah=a reminder(message of remembrance)

faman=and whoever

sha-a-wished to

thakarah=remembers it

SsuHhuf=books(in ordinary arabic it is newspapers)

mukarramah=held in honour,
*takreem=honouring,mukarram=honoured one(Makkah al-mukarramah=honoured MAkkah)

marfou3a=raised(here it is exalted)
rafa3a=raised...rafi3ah=lever

muTtaharah=pure

bi aydee=(written)in hands ,yad=one hand,yadee=my hand

safarah=scribes

kiram=honorable

bararah=pious and Just

qutil=woe to(literally=may he be killed)
qatal=killed,qatil=killer,yaqtul=kill

akfarah=rejecting Allah

min ay=of what

shay-in=thing

khalaq(ah)=He created (him)
=khalq=creation
=khaaliq=creator

nuTtfah=sperm-drop

qaddarahu=molded him in due proportion

thumma=and then

sabeel=path

yassarah=made smooth(easy),yusr=easiness

amatahu=caused to die,mawt=death,yamout=to die

aqbarahu=put in the grave,qabr=grave.quboor=graves

ansharauh=He will raise him up again,annushoor=resurrection

amarauh=what He commanded

yanthur=look,(nathar=sight)

ta3amih=his food

anna= We have

Ssababna=pour forth,yaSsub=to pour,Ssabba=poured

almaaa=water

ssabba=in abundance

shaqaqna=We have split

alarDda=the earth

shaq-qa=in fragments

fa=and so

anbatna=We have produced

Hhaba=grains

3inaba=grapes

qaDdba=fresh vegetation

zaytouna=olives

nakhla=date trees

Hhada'iqa=enclosed gardens

ghulba= dense with lofty trees

fakihatan=fruits

abba=fodder

mata3an=a provision

lakum=for yoú

li an3amikum=your cattle

aSsakhah=deafening noise( a name for the Day of Judgement)

almar'ou=man

akheeh=his own brother

ummih=his mother

abeeh=his father

SsaHhibatihi=his wife(SsaHhib=friend)

baneeh=his children(ibn=son,bint=daughter)

imri'in=person

minhum=of them

sha'nun=his own concern

yughneeh=make him indifferent to others

wujoohun=faces,wajh=face

mussfirah=beaming

DdaHhikah=laughing

mustabshirah=rejoicing

yawma ithin=that day

3alayha=on them

ghabarah=dust

tarhaquha=covered

qatarah=darkness

alkafarah(tu)=the Rejecters of Allah

al-fajarah=doers of iniquity
